After taking a long walk and window shopping around Pavilion KL, we decided to rest our feet at this beautiful/prestigious/eye-catching little cafe that so many people have been talking about. Yes, the famous TWG Tea Salon & Boutique.
It was very crowded that day, no wonder it was Saturday evening and TWG Tea Salon & Boutique is a perfect place to satisfy your tea time cravings.
After few minutes waiting, we were finally seated and quickly turned the menu to their tea time specials.
One thing I love the most about this place is the scent. Besides the colors, lovely lightings, and the pretty cake/tea/macarons stalls they have, I suddenly fell in love with the scent from every gold tea pots everybody were drinking.
After reading through the long menu, we decided to order the Fortune tea time set menu (RM55). It comes with a gold tea pot, the TWG signature tea, a warm roasted sandwich, a dessert and 3 choice of macarons. My husband ordered the TWG tea Croque Imperial, which smelled so delicious the moment it arrived.
The smoked salmon tasted so sweet and soft. The bread was so crunchy and it has creamy taste as well.
This tea pot. This gold tea pot.
TWG Tea is dominated with gold color. Their tea pots, their stalls, everything. It somehow adds the luxury feeling for just drinking tea in the middle of the mall. We ordered TWG Tea Vanilla Bourbon, it smelled so heavenly.
The moment when the waitress poured it into my cup, I could smell the scent that (I don’t know how) gave me such relaxed feelings, imagine, just by smelling it. I love the smell so much that I didn’t even want to leave this place. It smelled so good, so aromatic.
I agree that TWG Tea is expensive (sad but true).
I went to their tea stall and surprised with the price of a box of their tea, RM 500 for a box of tea, my goodness!
No wonder, they sell the luxury, prestigious feeling in your tea cup. It doesn’t just smell good, but it tastes good too.
These petite friends.
Meet Napoleon Tea & Caramel, Earl Grey Fortune & Chocolate and Bain de Roses Tea.
I wanted to try their macarons too, so my husband ordered for the all-in menu including the tea, sandwich, cake and macarons.
What to say? I was speechless the moment I bit every single one of them. They were so soft and the filling was so thick! I’m recalling the last time I bought macarons in Indonesia and it tasted like a rock, so hard to bite.
Bain de Roses Tea was my favorite. It wasn’t just sweet, it has something, the scent. Maybe it’s the tea.
My husband and I were so busy appreciating the tea, we couldn’t even remember the name of this little friend over here.
My husband took the first bite (yeah, he’s always excited like that whenever he sees a cake) and I knew it was delicious when I saw his speechless face. The waitress just asked us what dessert we’d like to have, she mentioned so many and we just picked chocolate out of the names she mentioned, lol.
The taste of the chocolate is so strong. Honestly, I’m not into milk chocolate or white chocolate, I think dark chocolate is perfect for me and this cake fits me perfectly. It’s not too sweet (I love it), the thick, creamy and heavy texture would satisfy your chocolate cravings just with a single bite.
It’s worth everything. The wait, the price, everything.
In our next visit, I’ll make sure to try their main courses (they all are mouth-watering ones) and wines. Too bad we were stuffed with two bowls of Santouka ramen when we got there.
We’ll definitely come back! Soon!
