Han Woo Ri Korean BBQ Restaurant — Damansara Uptown

Damansara Uptown is indeed a food heaven for foodies in Petaling Jaya area. The fact that you can find almost everything—from fancy coffee shops to kopitiam—is the exact reason why this place is always packed during lunch and dinner time.

I have been noticing Han Woo Ri for a while, ever since we moved to our new place in Petaling Jaya. With its red signage facing the sprint highway, it caught my attention so we decided to gave it a try.

We arrived a bit late, around 8:30 p.m. yet it was still crowded and there was only one table available, lucky us. The oh-so-heavenly smell of the grilled pork and beef sprung out as we opened the door. The room was full of chatters and the sound of sizzling meat on the charcoal grill.

À la carte and set meals are available with choices of pork, beef, chicken, and seafood plus extra dishes like dolsot bibimbap, japchae, kimchi jjigae and many more Korean dishes. We had to order minimum of two BBQ sets for à la carte, so we chose the must-have Sam Gyup Sal (fresh pork belly) and Hang Jeong Sal (fresh pork neck).

The order came with refillable banchan (side dishes) like a usual Korean restaurant serves normally.

The mouth-watering Sam Gyup Sal (RM32) and Hang Jeong Sal (RM37). Sam Gyup Sal is indeed a must-have when visiting a Korean BBQ restaurant. The juicyness is so mind-blowing!

Haven’t tried pork neck before, but I’m glad we ordered it. It was surprisingly tender!

One thing I like the most from Han Woo Ri is how friendly and attentive their staffs can be.

It’s clearly their expertise in grilling meat as the meat was all cooked perfectly. They also refill the banchan even before we noticed that we have run out. When we were there, we were served by a fellow named Lama, a very helpful and friendly staff indeed.

The meat was tender and juicy yet crispy on the edges.

The pricing is just about right for decent quality of meal and fantastic service, plus they use fresh ingredients.

We ended our dinner with complimentary slices of watermelon and sweet Korean traditional drink (not sure what it’s called, should ask next time!) They have affordable lunch sets and it’s very reasonably priced. For further info about location of branches, menu and promotions, check out their Facebook page here.
