The Morning After — Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, Kuala Lumpur

A gastronomical experience for the ultimate foodie adventure

Where food and design matters — The Morning After

I have been noticing The Morning After cafe for a while already since it’s only a few steps away from The Grumpy Cyclist.

Nestled in TTDI with its minimalist exterior and interior design, this cafe offers more than just a cup of coffee.

With its exquisite designs and soothing ambience, The Morning After cafe is a perfect place for those who seek solitude and those who enjoy good music while reading their favorite books and sipping good coffee.

The cozy corner in The Morning After.

I was impressed by their scrumptious food on my first visit.

An American Dream (RM25)

A hearty platter of scrambled eggs, roasted potatoes, beef bacon / turkey ham, chicken sausage, sammie, sautéed mushrooms & tomatoes is indeed my favorite pick for brunch, all cooked to perfection.

High & Mighty Londoner (RM25)

Another must-try from their brunch series, perfect for you who enjoy a classic English breakfast. A hearty meal consisting poached or fried eggs, grilled tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, buttered English muffin, chicken sausage & baked beans.

They also serve pastas, sandwiches, burgers and salads. Check out their full menu here.

Life is too short to drink bad coffee — The Morning After

Flat White (RM11)

Not to be missed is their signature blend, combination of Sumatra Mandheling, Papue New Guinea Sigri and Brazil Santos premium coffee beans. Their coffee was excellent and perfect to my liking, even my hubby who’s not a coffee drinker enjoyed every sip of it. It’s just perfect for those who need the usual morning caffeine fix.

If you are caffeine intolerant, don’t you worry. They have a wide variety of drinks, from fresh bottled juices, natural sodas, and even beers.

I personally love the cozy space in The Morning After as it’s very peaceful, quiet and serene. The only noises came from the soft music playing and the sounds of coffee brewing.

So, are you looking for a place for brunch or dinner date with your loved ones? Make sure to include The Morning After on your list.

P.S. Finding a parking spot can be tricky during lunch time. It’s better to arrive early before the whole parking area is packed up with cars. A tip, park somewhere else nearby and just take a walk.

Brunch at Rimba & Rusa by Wondermilk—Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara

Everyday is Sunday

Rimba & Rusa’s tagline is just as catchy as the design of their cafe. All the interior, exterior and decorations have stolen my heart at first sight. I think fellow instagrammers and photographers would agree with me once they see it with their own eyes :p

They don’t call themselves “Rimba” for nothing, as this cafe is decorated with countless pots of plants and greeneries.

It is probably the coziest space I’ve ever been so far. The natural lighting provided by the wide windows is just perfect for foodies and instagrammers whose job is to take a quick snap before tasting the foods (At least that’s what I do :p)

They have a party/event space at the second level. I even imagined to have my daughter’s first birthday party here, the setup is just irresistible!

I was so impressed by their neat and eye-catching decorations.

Despite the fact that Rimba & Rusa is a new player in town, they already have won so many hearts by providing such a homey ambience, good coffee and scrumptious foods.

Consisting with mostly Western cuisine with a fusion of Mediterranean and Italian on their menu, Rimba & Rusa is indeed a perfect place for foodies to fulfill their cravings.

Their Pulled Beef & Eggs Brisket (RM 25) is a must-try. Two delicious poached eggs combined with Sourdough toast and marinated tender pulled beef, with rocket salad as side dish. It is indeed a perfect starter and definitely not to be missed out during your visit.

Pandan French Toast (RM 24)

A hearty platter of three fluffy toasts drizzled with caramelized banana, fresh berries and pistachio crumbs with a generous amount of toffee sauce on top. The toasts were so soft and buttery, it goes perfectly with the toffee sauce and the fruits.

And of course, a cup of flat white for my usual morning caffeine fix (RM 12)

Everything is perfect.

The food is delicious, the coffee is excellent and the ambience is definitely something to be missed. I’ll go back for more!
